What profession do you admire most and why?

A PASTOR’S WIFE
I most admire a Pastor’s wife. Even though technically she does not receive her own professional pay, second only to her husband, the First Lady’s position in the church and community is the most scrutinized and toughest to fill. She looks fabulous and remains fully engaged as she attends and helps her husband prepare for every Sunday morning, Sunday night, Tuesday Ladies Group, Wednesday night Bible Study, Thursday College and Career Time, Friday Teens Meeting, Saturday Men’s Breakfast, Funeral, Hospital visitation, Chior practice, or other church activity. Imagine going to church every time the doors are ever open for years. The Pastor’s wife is also his wife. Every day she meets the mental, physical, and emotional demands of this role, caring for their home, raising children with him, and meeting their needs within that home. She shares her gifts and talents with patience and grace.
Sometimes, the First Lady is sick or exhausted. Because the Pastor and his wife are so supportive and protective of each other, other people may not become aware of her condition until she finishes a performance or speaking engagement. If a Pastor’s wife were to be paid, how much should she get?
First, add pay for each action she does in the church, item by item. Recognize that she is an invaluable asset. Next, add each thing she brings daily to the life of the Pastor as his Helper, chosen by God. In their unity, they resemble and represent God. Then, pour in the high working costs of each task of motherhood. She is a mother who loves and serves. Lastly, add everything she does out in the community to share the Gospel of Christ.
What is her price? I could not pay. It is only my honor to know her and to learn from her example. According to God, her worth is Far Above Rubies.
