What motivates you?
In life I try to apply the acronym T.H.I.N.K. before I act on any motivation or thought to speak.
Is it TRUE?
Am I listening to gossip? Is the source trustworthy or verifiable? Does it match with the Word of God?
It is true that I need to walk some every day to maintain my ability to walk. Walking and the Daniel Diet (not the Fast) have helped me to lose eighty pounds since August 2023.
Is it HELPFUL?
Is the person’s “advice” based on sound principles, or is it leading me backward to old depression or forward in confusion?
Reading my Bible will help me to discover more about what God thinks of me. His Word will help me to remember my life’s true purpose.
Is it IMPORTANT?
Are you sharing something that has value, or talking to be heard?
There is great value in being there, showing up for someone else and allowing that person to tell his or her story, to share his or her ideas. Great friendships are made in listening and not being self-important.
Is it NECESSARY?
Do I neeeed the pizza (or anything else) advertised on t.v.? Do I even need to watch this t.v.? Could the time of my life be better spent to the glory and honor of God with my family, enjoying His creation, or contacting someone I haven’t heard from in awhile?
Is it KIND?
Am I being kind to myself by letting someone else take away my God-given choices and free will? Do my choices line up with the Word of God? Will my words or actions be the most kind I can choose in the moment?
I make mistakes, A LOT. I am forgiven, A LOT.
God is good, ALL THE TIME.
And, ALL THE TIME, God is good.
