What brands do you associate with?
I eat natural vegan and gluten free because I have celiac disease. I cook my own food out of fear of being sick and in pain. I don’t eat at restaurants. I also don’t buy without reading labels first. It takes three days to stop feeling awful after I eat wrong. Wrong are wheat, oats, rye, and barley.
I have also chosen to be as chemical free as I can due to my past pile of meds, high weight, and horrible lab numbers.
There came a day when I made a promise. Based on bloodwork, doctors said I had leukemia, and I was going to die. My babies were eight and two. I decided to live for them. I promised myself that I would live, healthy, for them, to see them grow up.
I began studying food as medicine and food in the Bible. I was taking about 15 pills a day. Corn syrup went away first. After that went red meat. That was 25 years ago, praise be to God who heals me day by day.
I am well. I am brand loyal. It makes shopping fast and easy. I like the outer circle of the grocery store. Produce, Frozen foods, Fresh fish, Raw nuts, Olives, Spices, and Almond milk. I don’t usually buy much from the middle aisles. When I go to the middle, I choose the same items over and over to make what I got from the outer circle great like apple cider vinegar or tamari.
My doctors always ask what I am doing when I visit. I say that I am cooking my own food and keeping a promise to live my best life. There is no sign of the leukemia.
