I have perfected and still use my “treacher face.” I use my “teacher voice” with my loved ones by habit and seem stern when I’m meaning to be thoughtful. I also adhere strictly to the principles of my faith. When I refuse to join peers in worldly fun sometimes, it makes them mad. They can get mad and get glad in the same pair of pants.

Because I have thick hedges and high walls, I am hard to get to know. I back away to protect my personhood, but I am an open book to my true friends.

Those who know me well say that I have a great sense of humor. I love word play. I use it to put others at ease or to make them laugh. If I can’t at least get a smile, I keep trying until I do. Everyone needs fun, laughter, and joy in life.
